Meet the Team

Legal Resolution Services is by the innovators at Stahancyk, Kent and Hook to work as mediators and collaborative/nonadversarial lawyers or alongside litigants helping them handle their own family law case. As of 2024, the Supreme Court admitted 9 SKH employees to the Oregon State Bar as Licensed Paralegals1. Licensed Paralegals aim to address the crisis Oregon faces in civil legal services, offering opportunity for people who can’t afford an attorney, don’t meet federal poverty guidelines, or just need guidance and coaching, our LPs will meet your needs.

Biography

As a mediator and attorney, Sean loves to resolve conflict in a way that works for people. He enjoys challenges, and the ability to bring creativity to difficult cases.

Professional Experience

He has been practicing law since 2007. He started his career prosecuting (and later defending) criminal cases. He was licensed in Oregon in 2011 and began to do family law cases as well. In 2019 he started working for SKH. He fully shifted to family law, and began to focus on mediation work and legal counseling for people handling their own cases.

A member of the Oregon State Bar since 2011. He has volunteered with Lawyer in the Library.

Community Involvement

Sean is involved with organizations helping Central Oregonians connect within their community. He has volunteered his time with groups helping with education and housing.

Interests

Sean grew up in Alaska, and loves the outdoors. He and his wife have been able to share their love of kayaking, camping, hiking, and snowshoeing with their family. They also enjoy game nights and experiment with cooking recipes from around the world.

Biography

Conner was born in New Mexico, and then moved to Willamette Valley at a young age. He grew up in and around Corvallis, eventually going to Western Oregon University, where he earned two degrees; Political Science & Communications. After graduating, he moved to Astoria for the beautiful scenery, coastal culture, and to start working for SKH.

Conner has been working at SKH since July 2022 with no legal experience prior to that.

Biography

Sanam enjoys spending free time by pursuing a variety of hobbies. She can often be found exploring the trails and rivers of the Pacific Northwest. During the week, Sanam enjoys playing volleyball, Dungeons & Dragons, and reading books on the couch with her two cats.

Professional Experience

Sanam vonKaenel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management Information Studies from Washington Statue University. Prior to joining Stahancyk, Kent & Hook, Sanam served as a paralegal in the United States Army. She joined Stahancyk as a legal assistant for Anna Friedhoff in the summer of 2022. Sanam is excited to continue her work for the firm as a Licensed Paralegal.

Professional Activities

Sanam a part of the first ever cohort of Licensed Paralegals in the state of Oregon.

Community Involvement

Sanam has been a volunteer with church youth since 2021, leading middle and high school students on a weekly basis. Sanam currently holds the title of Portland’s Female Backgammon Champion of 2023 and enjoys practicing in her free time to defend her title.

Biography

Born and raised in Sennfeld, Germany, Jutta immigrated to Prineville Oregon in the summer of 1995. She is a naturalized citizen since 2015. She worked for Stahancyk, Kent and Hook from July 2006 to December 2007, and again since January 31, 2022.

Professional Experience

Jutta began working in the legal field since 2001. She works exclusively in Family Law since 2018. In October 2023, she and 8 other applicants from Stahancyk, Kent & Hook, applied to become Licensed Paralegals and has been admitted as a Licensed Paralegal through the Oregon State Bar. She is compassionate and enjoys helping people.

Jutta is a Member of the Oregon State Bar.

Community Involvement

Jutta stays to herself and spends time with her family. She attends community events as they happen throughout the year.

Interests

She enjoys spending time with her family, crocheting, working with polymer clay and diamond painting. Her greatest joy is watching her granddaughter grow up. She enjoys traveling to Germany to visit her family when she can, and traveling to Disneyland with her daughter and granddaughter.

Biography

Lydia is a very adventurous and passionate individual who enjoys helping others through tough challenges. Lydia grew up playing soccer and running track, always up for a good competition. In her time off, Lydia loves to explore new sceneries on her nature walks or travel to a new museum.

Professional Experience

Lydia Berman was born and raised in Seaside, Oregon. Lydia obtained her Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Portland State University. She joined Stahancyk, Kent & Hook as a legal assistant in February of 2021. Lydia previously interned at Student Legal Services at Portland State University which helps students tackle their legal issues in landlord-tenant and family law matters. Lydia is part of the first ever cohort to receive their Limited Scope Paralegal License in family law through the Oregon State Bar. She looks forward to being able to directly use her experience in family law to help people in the community.
